THE LADIES OF MY LIFE

YOU ALWAYS REMEMBER YOUR FIRST
Hi ! My love of corvette's has been growing ever since i got my first, a 78' silver anniversary painted maple mahogany metalic. This was my first attempt at a total restoration of a vette. She was painted in my folks garage in the dead of winter and outfitted with a new fastburn 385, full leather upholstery, and rockin sound system, needless to say she turned alot of heads

A STEADY PROGRESSION
As the years went by I wanted more from my car than she was able to deliver, and was drawn away by a new love, an 84. She had a 4+3 tranny, 336 gears, and the good ol crossfire fuel injection system that nobody seems to like. It was in sad shape due to years of neglect, at the hands of someone who did'nt deserve her. Over the course of a year she was carefully taken apart piece by piece, with everything being upgraded, except the heart of the beast, which still beat with a vengence. She was put back together with the help of hooker, msd, flowmaster, holley, and a host of others. At her debut in the Waco autorama, she took 2nd place in her class, street machine- modified. sadly, ( in my heart, but joy in another), i watched her glide away, under the carefull piloting of her new owner on the last day of January, this year.

WACO AUTORAMA 2001
In my first show ever i could'nt complain about 2nd place with all the fine vette's that were on hand.

THE STORY CONTINUES ......
My latest project is a 92 LT-1. She was a decent car owned by a fella here in my hometown who did'nt really have the time or money to invest in the upkeep of such a machine. It had a few problems that took some time to sort through before i could really start to enjoy her. She did'nt look too bad save for some peeling paint and other signs of neglect, but her day was comming !!!

She went into the shop to be given a kick azzzzz new facelift the day my 84 went to her new home. Her wheels were taken to Dallas to be custom refinished by Wheels America, who did an absolutely fantastic job. My wife and i had been discussing several options for the paint job, even as far as changing the original color, since i had already had a quasar blue paintjob on my 84. we discussed stripes, flames, and other types of special effects worthy of the name....CORVETTE.

We were looking thru an issue of Corvette Fever magazine, and saw it....Baldwin-Motion. The stripe's that Joel rosen used on his infamous corvette's of 1969 thru the mid 70's caught my eye. These were the stripes that I was going to use. The day came when my painter was ready to have me come to the shop and have me help lay out the stripes, but when i got there I had second thoughts. The glow of the Quasar blue metalic paint was reflecting thru the whole shop and it made me think...did i really want to take a chance of messing that up?

I talked with my wife that evening, and for a week after the car was painted, trying to make up my mind. On her urging,( actually she was tired of riding around in my mom's honda civic...so i guess it was begging), I went for it. After 6hrs of tapeing, prepping, and painting, a thing of shear beauty, power, and intimidation stood before us. MY TRIBUTE TO THE DESIGN MASTERY THAT HAS MADE THE BALDWIN-MOTION CORVETTES THE ICON THEY ARE TODAY

There will still be more things to do once the paintjob is finished, so there will be more updates as things progress. A new custom designed interior package is in the early stages of planning. Several under hood paint mods have also been thought about, but i'm not giving anything else away. My fellow Corvette forum members and friends will be given constant updates on her progress. She will not be a trailer queen, she'll be driven like she was meant to be. She will make the occasional show when i can fit it into my busy schedule as an over the road truck driver, and she will be enjoyed for many years to come.

So there it is in a big nutshell.....check out the pics on my photo page...I dont think you'll be disappointed.

SAY A PRAYER FOR OUR TROOPS FIGHTING FOR OURS, AND THE WORLDS FREEDOM....AND REMEMBER, SAVE THE WAVE !!!
